Welcome

Welcome to my Digital Garden - a collection and an experimental area focusing on things that I find interesting or relevant or maybe just fun to write about. The basic principle is to sow thoughts, and let them grow and develop.

As a gardener in the real world too, I know that gardening involves careful planning, hard work, and a fair amount of patience. This 'garden' is still in its early stages, and I'm in the process of determining how to develop it, so anticipate some adjustments as we move forward.

Most of the content is in Danish, with some in Finnish and English. Please keep in mind that English isn't my native language (nor Danish either), so don't get too hung up on details if I express things in some weird ways.

A few words about me

My professional background is in gardening, with experience in urban gardens, green roofs, and social green projects. I also manage private courtyards and public facilities, and work on urban nature tasks like guided tours, workshops, and info materials. Additionally, I have some experience in the graphic industry, including design, exhibitions, publications, and photo/video editing etc.

I'm originally from Finland, but have spent most of my adult life in Denmark. Over the years I have lived in different parts of the country and in very different surroundings (city, village and in the countryside). Now I live in Copenhagen, in the district of Ørestad, together with my hubby Tate - who also is a Finn.

Nature and environment mean a lot to me. But I'm also fascinated by technology and science, and like things to be in an interaction where different things reinforce each other (eg. environment + technology = environmental technology). Community engagement, local politics, LGBT-matters are important topics too. And as a Finn living in Denmark, I have a special interest in the Nordic friendship work and in the expat-Finn community.

My work life and other activities are in many ways intertwined. It can sometimes be difficult to define where one ends and another begins. But this is how it works best for me - and I try to shape my life so that I have an opportunity to work with things that are interesting and meaningful.
